Yeah, this is just an appreciation post of life in general and the local Old School Magic crew in particular.
It is no secret, that team Metageyser is a surprisingly big team. We don’t keep close scores, and maybe we are not all actually, officially on the team, but where we live – Svendborg in the southern part of the Danish island Funen – we are at least ten, maybe even around 15, guys playing Old School Magic.
That is very surprising. Svendborg is a city of around 30.000 people. What are the odds, that so relatively many of those find an interest in an obscure card game and only play with the very oldest and most expensive cards from said game?
Slim. The odds are slim. I would say.
And that makes it so much more of a blessing. Look at this:

Eight guys around a table. Me taking the picture! Nine dudes playing Old School on a random thursday night is all one could ever dream off.
And the fun thing, that keeps surprising me, is that new friends are continously joining! Again! The odds?
Also sometimes old friends join. Thus Kenneth, the second guy on the right, suddenly showed up with Rasmus. They are neighbors. They had been talking about Magic. Kenneth was interested in joining one of our Thursday get-togethers. Rasmus simply introduced him as Neighbor-John in our Messenger thread.
So it was not until he arrived at my house, I figured out he is actually the same Kenneth as I was best friends with all the way through primary school. What a coincidence. What a pleasure!
So now, we are one more!
Can I just recommend everyone (again) to join some hobby that gives you the opportunity to see good friends and acquaintances every once in a while? What a treat. It can really help, when you are looking at some of the greater potential trouble in life.
For example: I have for a couple of weeks had a strong desire to share a bottle of Port with a good crew. What could be more natural, than invite the Metageyser-people?
One of them even brought an extra bottle, to make sure we did not run out… (we did anyway, but thank God he had brought an extra bottle, otherwise we would have been in real trouble)
